Reevaluating the Hartman effect for field emission

چکیده
An electron wave packet tunneling through a barrier has transmission (or ``group delay'') time ${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{g}$ that, for rectangular barrier, is commonly held to become independent of the width $L$ as increases (the McColl-Hartman effect). In present study, it shown that first, effect dependent upon Gamow factor $\ensuremath{\theta}(k)$ vanishes, and only when large; second, triangular model field emission, although can be large small field, vanishes energy matches height.

متن کاملThe Hartman-Grobman Theorem
The Hartman–Grobman Theorem (see [3, page 353]) was proved by Philip Hartman in 1960 [5]. It had been announced byGrobman in 1959 [1], likely unbeknownst to Hartman, and Grobmanpublished his proof in 1962 [2], likely without knowing of Hartman’s work. (Grobman attributes the question to Nemycki and an earlier partial result to R.M. Minc (citing Nauč. Dokl. Vysš. Školy. Fiz.-Mat. Nauki 1 (1958))...
متن کاملDelay time and the hartman effect in quantum tunneling.
A general relation between the group delay and the dwell time is derived for quantum tunneling. It is shown that the group delay is equal to the dwell time plus a self-interference delay. The Hartman effect in quantum tunneling is explained on the basis of saturation of the integrated probability density (or number of particles) under the barrier.
متن کاملReevaluating the effect of non-teaching wages on teacher attrition
Most empirical teacher attrition research focuses on estimating the effect of either the alternate occupation opportunities or the teacher work environment on teacher attrition. In this paper, we use non-teaching wages of former teachers to estimate the determinants of teacher attrition, including the wage differential between teaching and non-teaching occupations, as well as the teacher work e...
